My name is James Fodor, and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, in Melbourne, Australia. I started this podcast in 2010 as a way to share what I learned about science and the world around me with others. The podcast is exclusively my own work, so any errors or shortcomings in the research, recording, or editing are entirely my own.
My studies at university have been rather diverse, and have at different times included history, politics, economics, philosophy, mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, and biology. Currently I am completing a PhD in the fields of computational neuroscience and computational linguistics.
I also have a deep interest in philosophy, history, and religion, which I periodically write about on my blog, which is called The Godless Theist. In addition, I also have interests in and varying levels of involved in skeptical/atheist activism, effective altruism, and transhumanism/emerging technologies. I am a fan of most things sci-fi, including Star Trek, Dr Who, and authors such as Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov.
